Italy’s revenue growth from online casino gambling slowed in October 2019. This follows from the report of the Italian gambling regulator Agenzia delle dogane e dei Monopol (AAMS).
According to the document, in October, online casino operators licensed in Italy received an income of 65.7M euros, which is 1.2% more than the same month last year.
At the same time, in September, the income of online casinos amounted to 71.8M euros, and its annual growth exceeded 22.4%.
The leader in the online casino market has remained the PokerStars brand from The Stars Group with a share of 10.6%. Sisal (9%), Playtech Snaitech (8.3%) and Lottomatica (8.2%) follow.
Over the same period, revenues from online poker gambling decreased by 7.6% to 4.9M.
Nevertheless, it should be pointed out that only 22% of Italians are interested in traditional land-based casinos whereas more than 60% of Italians rather prefer online casino gambling.
